What’s Happening?

“We’re part of a movement of people transformed by Jesus Christ (churches), welling up in Montreal and spilling over to the rest of the French-Speaking world.”

What are we doing specifically? We’re answer this question in 4 parts: locally, regionally, provincially, and globally

LOCALLY:

In fall of 2006, a group of people transformed by Jesus Christ began meeting together in the St-Jérôme region (140,000+ people). Several were sent from Terrebonne Mascouche to become a “daughter church”… the first of many (Lord-willing). A core group began the fall of 2006, grew through 2007, and began Sunday morning services January of 2008 in an art gallery (the large room where we hold services is where they hold art workshops).  In St-Jérôme we share the love of Jesus with others, help those in need, are involved in the local college(Le Lounge), meet in multiple small groups around the city during the week, pray intensively, as well as much else.

One other couple, Jacob and Marie-Paul, works with us in ministry full-time. They were both born and raised in Quebec.

Here is a prayer drive of St Jérôme… (a way to get involved even if I live thousands of miles away and don’t speak French):

REGIONALLY:

Our Regional Vision includes participating in the planting of 10 new churches on Montréals North Shore

Our Regional Vision includes participating in the planting of 10 new churches on Montréal's North Shore

We are part of “La Vision Conquérante” of the regional vision of Terrebonne-Masouche church. Louis (the pastor of Terrebonne Mascouche) desires to see the birth of at least 10 daughter churches and train 20 new pastors before he retires (he’s in his mid-fifties). St-Jérôme is the first in this vision.

Rob is part of a team of 5 leaders which spearheads and oversees this undertaking. The team also finds and trains new church planters & pastors for this movement.

Currently we are planning the next new church in St-Eustache. A phenomenal group of people transformed by Jesus Christ is already meeting together there.

PROVINCIALLY:

Québec, Canada, home to 6 million French-speakers

Québec, Canada, home to 6 million French-speakers

Quebec has a French-speaking population of 6 million. Rob is a member of a Provincial team (different from the regional team) that spearheads and oversees the Province-wide 30-100-100-10 vision (30 new churches, 100 new workers, 100 total churches… in 10 years). We are on pace to achieve each aspect of this vision by 2012!

Quebec churches really have a passion to reach their brother and sister Quebeckers through the starting of new churches. Nearly 50% of all healthy baptist churches in Quebec are involved in planting a new daughter church.

GLOBALLY:

Global Church-Planting Vision

Global Church-Planting Vision

Our passion is that this movement would spill over to the rest of “La Francophonie” (the French-speaking world)… that church planting movements we be founded and helped all around the world.

We work in primary partnership with a host of churches and individuals
throughout the USA and Canada. We work strategically with World Venture (a U.S.-based organization involved in starting churches globally), as well as have strategic partnerships with FEB International, The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptists, Missions Door, the Fellowship French Mission, as well as others.

Thank you for being a part of this amazing movement that our great God is fueling.

In Christ,

…Rob, Martine, Caleb, and Constance

Hey Rob – really glad to see the global aspect of this vision. I think it’s generally been a missing ingredient in the Quebec scene. I love seeing the intentional ‘DNA-setting’ that is evident in this kind of vision. I pray that God truly blesses this church plant in St. Jerome!
